Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Located south of Pudong Airport, the 2.54-square-kilometer MRO zone integrates engineering support, bonded maintenance, modification, parts repair and aviation material management, forming a high-end aviation service platform aligned with large aircraft industry development.
The project was supported by the Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area Administration, the East China regional aviation regulator and customs authorities, with Shanghai Airport Authority coordinating infrastructure construction and assuming operational management of public areas within the zone.
Construction followed an "airport speed" approach. From signing a framework agreement in November 2023 to project launch in June 2024, the new base achieved same-day land acquisition, permitting and groundbreaking, an unprecedented milestone in Shanghai.

The hangar, Asia's largest single-span facility of its kind, features a 200-meter steel structure and covers 48,000 square meters, accommodating up to six aircraft simultaneously, including four wide-body and two narrow-body planes.
Complex construction challenges were addressed through optimized design and digital monitoring, enabling precise installation of 3,100 metric tons of steel, while eight 32-ton hangar doors were calibrated to meet high operational standards.
