The Cargo Facts Asia 2026, jointly hosted by Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) and Cargo Facts, a leading global air cargo authority, provides market analysis, consulting, and hosts premier industry events, took place at the W Hotel in Shanghai's Bund area from March 23 to 25.

Lyu Yaodong, vice president of AVINEX and chairman of Shanghai Airport Logistics, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the continued growth of Shanghai's air cargo sector.

Shanghai's air cargo throughput in 2025 surpassed 4.5 million metric tons, marking a historic milestone. Cross-border e-commerce freight volume exceeded 600,000 tons for the first time, contributing to the sector's growth.

Shanghai's air transport network now spans 53 countries and 302 destinations, including 63 dedicated freighter routes. Shanghai's airports are enhancing their role as a global logistics hub, focusing on integrating supply chain services and expanding international flight networks.

The conference, attended by nearly 300 executives from more than 130 companies, including Boeing, Airbus, FedEx, China Eastern Air Logistics, and UPS, highlighted Shanghai's progress in cargo hub development.

Discussions at the event covered the airfreight market in the Asia-Pacific region, cross-border e-commerce, and the future of freighter capacity.

AVINEX will continue deepening its collaboration with Cargo Facts to boost Shanghai's influence and promote sustainable air cargo development.
