Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights

To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)

Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Shanghai Pudong International Airport has opened the west section of its south airport access tunnel. This project marks a first for Shanghai, as it employs a continuous light-strip lighting system.

This innovative design eliminates abrupt brightness changes, thereby reducing driver visual fatigue and significantly enhancing driving comfort and overall road safety in the tunnel.

The tunnel spans 3.3 kilometers and includes portal, cut-and-cover, louver-beam, and open sections, serving as a key route linking Pudong airport's southern and northern areas and providing a major connection to Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area.

Drivers often experience reduced visual sensitivity when moving between bright and dim environments, requiring brief eye adaptation. To address this, Shanghai Airport Authority worked with designers and builders to introduce continuous LED light-strip lighting.

Compared with conventional fixtures, the continuous light strips deliver more even illumination and stronger spatial clarity, avoiding glare or flicker and providing clear visual guidance that helps drivers better anticipate the roadway ahead.

The tunnel also features an intelligent dimming system that automatically adjusts brightness based on day and night conditions, while smart supplementary lighting is applied in transition zones between bright and dark sections.

Matte finishes on the side walls help lower glare and reflections, maintaining brightness within comfortable ranges for the human eye and highlighting ongoing efforts to improve road safety and driving comfort.
