Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The 2026 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix will take place March 13-15 at Shanghai International Circuit. On Feb 7, the first batch of race supplies arrived and was quickly transported to the venue by airport teams.
Qatar Airways charter flight QR8962 carried 32 air pallets totaling 67.8 metric tons. Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) ground handling and cargo terminal staff efficiently ensured immediate offloading and rapid transfer to the circuit.

Following a recent cold wave and due to sensitive cargo — including precision equipment and race parts — airport teams developed detailed contingency plans with Customs, airlines, and freight forwarders, assigning experienced supervisors, drivers, and loaders to ensure secure operations.
Before landing, tractors, lifts, transfer vehicles, and all staff were prepositioned. Operations ran smoothly; the first pallet was offloaded and transferred within 12 minutes, demonstrating highly efficient preplanning and teamwork at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
The cargo terminal opened a full-process green channel and a special cargo zone, prioritizing inspection, sorting, and transfer. Exposure to the cold outdoors was minimized, and all first-batch supplies reached the circuit that morning.
Eight more charter shipments are expected before the race. AVINEX, together with event organizers and logistics partners, will continue delivering high-priority supplies, ensuring the 2026 Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix runs safely and on schedule.
