Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights

To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)

Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport's Phase IV flight zone has reached a key milestone, with the main structure of the southbound underpass completed and the east and southwest remote aprons entering their final stages.

The southbound underpass, located south of Terminal 3, spans 1,482 meters and will link T3's east and west wings, providing a dedicated route for airside operational vehicles to ensure smoother airport operations.

Described as the project's transmission shaft, the underpass intersects dense municipal works — the Airport Link Line, the S32 viaduct, the south work area road, and the Nanhui branch — directly affecting the construction schedule.

Construction is complicated by numerous constraints including overhead power lines, communication and water pipelines, and existing structures, requiring protective measures, meticulous staging and tightly coordinated site management across multiple interfaces.

Shanghai Airport Authority and partners adopted a smart construction management platform and digital building technologies to oversee end-to-end project delivery, improving both precision and efficiency.

Phase IV flight zone's first-stage construction began in July last year, with full-stage completion expected by year-end and commissioning set for the first half of next year; stage two has completed all preparatory works.

These works provide critical support for advancing Phase IV expansion, strengthening airport connectivity and operational resilience, while underpinning Pudong Airport's long-term goal of developing into a comprehensive international aviation hub.
