Civil Aviation Administration of China: Power banks without 3C certification or recalled models banned on domestic flights
To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. (For details, please visit the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation's Defective Product Recall Technical Center at www.samrdprc.org.cn/xfpzh/xfpgnzh)
Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport will enforce the requirements of this notice to ensure passenger safety. We kindly ask all passengers to comply with this notice by carefully checking the certification label, brand, and model of your power banks before traveling. Please do not bring non-compliant power banks on board. Remove your power bank before security checks to prevent travel delays.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
On Dec 20, Shanghai unveiled the urban scenario low-altitude test base at an innovation forum marking Shanghai Low-altitude Economy Industry Development Co's first anniversary, signaling substantive scenario opening and accelerating industrial clustering in the city's emerging low-altitude economy.
Guided by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and the Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX), the forum focused on airworthiness readiness and intelligent testing, highlighting practical progress in service capability development and urban low-altitude testing capacity expansion.
Officials from the municipal commission, Minhang district, Pudong New Area and AVINEX jointly launched the test base. This effort leverages coordinated development between Minhang district and Pudong New Area to create a comprehensive, diverse and complementary testing network.
A separate ceremony celebrated the onboarding of companies into the Pudong low-altitude test base, where more than 20 organizations joined as the first cohort, including those involved in aircraft research and manufacturing, key technologies, universities, telecom operators, infrastructure and applications.
The market-oriented collaboration aims to integrate high-quality industry resources to deliver end-to-end services, ranging from consulting and conformity verification to testing and certification, forming a regional airworthiness service system with national reach.
Founded last December under the leadership of the Shanghai municipal Party committee and government, the company has developed the four networks framework — facilities, airspace connectivity, routes and services —supporting testing, standards development and ecosystem building for high-quality growth.
