To ensure the safety of aviation operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has issued an urgent notice. Starting June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks that lack a 3C certification label, have unclear 3C labeling, or belong to recalled models or batches on domestic flights. At the 8th China International Import Expo, the Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) signed procurement agreements exceeding $260 million, demonstrating concrete efforts to advance China's high-level opening-up and support the Pudong Airport Phase IV Expansion Project.

On Nov 7, AVINEX Chairman Feng Xin and Vanderlande Industries CEO Andrew Manship signed a $229 million agreement for a baggage-handling system as part of the Terminal Area Project.

The signing ceremony in Shanghai was attended by Executive Vice Mayor Wu Wei and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) Director He Qing.

A day earlier, on Nov 6, AVINEX signed an $8.6 million escalator procurement deal with Schindler Holding Ltd, with AVINEX President Zhou Hao and Chief Engineer Li Jinliang in attendance. The group also finalized contracts with Hitachi Elevator and Mitsubishi Elevator, increasing total agreements to over $260 million.

The baggage-handling system utilizes IoT and visually-assisted sorting technologies to enable automation and precise tracking from check-in through loading. Once operational, Pudong Airport's Terminal 3 will feature 100 percent aircraft-adjacent stands, handle all interline flights, implement fully automated sorting, and ensure a 60-minute transfer time.
