Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with eastoday.com to improve brand publicity and public services on July 26.

The cooperation is expected to harness the potentials of both organizations. SAA engages in air services and eastoday.com in information dissemination, both linking Shanghai to the world in different ways.

Zhang Xuebing, Party secretary of SAA, in an address at the signing ceremony said SAA is working to build the airport into a world-class aviation hub. He explained that the airport is a mobile urban space with multiple functions, and to that effect the cooperation is a strategic move to provide online services for passengers.

“In the future, the two sides will cooperate in the fields of public relations and other online services, in order to build a better brand image for Shanghai airports”, Zhang added.

He Jiliang, chairman of eastoday.com, said the website which is a key news website in China is trying to integrate media business with industry development in line with the strategy of news promotion, government affair service and community service.

“The Authority and the website will jointly build a public-service-platform or smart airport where information on air services such as flights and tourism will be available to visitors”, He noted.

Also attendance at the signing ceremony were Wu Jianrong, chairman of SAA, Hu Zhihong, Party secretary of Shanghai International Airport Co Ltd, Tang Haixing, Party secretary of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Xu Shiping, president and chief editor of eastoday.com.
